How to set up Protobuzz
Forward your buzzer, assign guest codes, and automate entry in a few simple steps.
Before you start
Make sure you have access to your building directory or can contact the property manager who controls it. You will also need the buzzer number currently assigned to your unit.
If your intercom calls a landline or mobile number today, Protobuzz will work. No panel upgrades or electricians required.
Set up Protobuzz in six steps
Download Protobuzz and verify your account
Install the iOS or Android app, create your account, and verify your phone number so we can route buzzer calls to your device.
Collect building buzzer details
Confirm your directory number and panel type (Mircom, Enterphone, etc.). This ensures the virtual number we assign connects on the first try.
Share the Protobuzz virtual number
Inside the app, copy your virtual number and give it to your property manager, landlord, or concierge so they can update the building directory.
Test the call-forwarding chain
Have someone buzz your unit and make sure the call reaches your phone. Add roommates or concierge staff to the fallback chain if you need backups.
Create guest access codes
Set up temporary or recurring codes for guests, cleaners, or delivery drivers. Combine schedules and usage limits to keep access secure.
Automate notifications and logging
Enable push alerts, SMS notifications, and activity history exports so every entry is tracked for households, property teams, or short-term rentals.
